Ces v2 de 13 tonnes volaient à 80 km d ‘ altitude, à une vitesse de 500km/h ; ils pouvaient transporter une bombe d’ une
tonne à 300 km .
Après la guerre les nouveaux v2 construits aux usa seront le modèle d’ ou naitrons les fusées modernes.
La première fusée
l ‘ Américain Goddard construit en 1926 un nouvel engin ; des supports maintiennent à la verticales une fusée contenant
un réservoir de pétrole .
Le pétrole en brulant vas propulser la fusée vers le ciel .
Le 16 mars 1926 ,elle s ‘ élèvera jusqu ‘ à 56 mètre , puis s’écrasera au sol .
En 1935 une autre fusées de Goddard à atteint 2 280 mètres , mais l’ on ne voient pas encore l’ utilité de ces engins .
Le coporal
Cette fusée sonde est un lanceur v2 surmonté d’ un petit missile corporal lancée le 24 février 1949 , de la base de Cap Canaveral ( qui deviendra célèbre , avec les projets Appolo) .
La fusée monte à 405 km d ‘ altitude .
Les savants s’ entrainent ainsi à lancer verticalement des missiles portant non plus des armes .
Mais des instruments de mesures pour étudier l’espace au delà de l’ atmosphère terrestre , soit à plus de 80 km de la Terre.
